In my life I have often not taken the easiest route.  I’ve not intentionally tried to make my life difficult rather I have followed my heart  (and denied it). My heart being in opposition to societal and institutional expectations and as a result, conflicting my mind.  Leaving me feeling torn, conflicted by my want to please others and fit in versus my desire to trust myself or the greater spirit of my being which does not always make logical sense but urges us to be true to our path.  This is unique to everyone.  Respecting that uniqueness and difference is our ultimate challenge.  Learning to live together and not expecting everybody to conform to our way– and acknowledging that our way may be the way we believe we have to be to be accepted, to be loved, to be acceptable.

Our inspiration allows us to create and expand our consciousness from the physical to the impossible.  Our enthusiasm has led us to create a once unimaginable world.

Complexities, great and greater.

Overwhelmed by the disconnection I felt inspired me to make this work .

Going deeper into explorations of the perception of reality, the human condition and our universe.

In these works I use my experience of being human and commitment to resolving my own inner conflict as a starting point for getting to the heart of it - making work to recognize my current state, reality and my part in it.. Acknowledging the principle of mentalism - ‘all is mind, the universe is mental’ set out in Hermetic philosophy.

This work is developed through the process of clarifying the intention, the subject and the purpose and working intuitively from there.  This exhibition encompasses painting, mixed media piece,, a song and writing to express and bring awareness to the process.  Exploring essence and identity. Starting with feeling deep into the heart and coming out the other side with the particle (among other things) inspired "All is Mind”.

A reflective piece on our current reality in relation to our environment and our impact on it. With sphagnum moss being the base for other plants to grow in the development of the bogs. A reminder of cycles. And fragility. Materials: Bee, moss, newspapers, turf, coal, eggshells. The use of spagnum moss in history particularly in the two world wars is an interesting corelation.
