Caitríona Sheedy began her professional career as a painter in 2001, this practice has been expanding - into sculpture, installation & in more recent years, music and songs, which have become part of the installations and added performance into the equation. The songs are a distillation of the research & enquiry which is experiential & intuitively guided in nature & also into areas such as science, psychology, every day living and experience, personal and combined with whats happening in the world. The project is based in the Burren, settled on limestone pavement and in view of the wild Atlantic Sea.
Her explorations are a process of recovery & discovery & weave together within the creative practice of life.. They inform the development of art installations, videos & more recently Audio visual performance pieces.
Caitríona has been facilitating workshops for over 20 years privately, in schools & as resident artist in 7 projects over the years as part of the Embrace scheme in Co. Clare. Since 2014 she has developed many installations for art/music festivals such as the Electric Picnic & for Clare Culture Nights. She has carried out a number of project of place studies, 2 in Ennis town & currently ongoing - Natures Resonance Project, in the Burren, Co. Clare. These projects culminate in a a ‘summing up’ piece, developed from a process of observation & gathering of information.
Living in a place of intense beauty, the elements of our natural environment and our human experience guide the work which is rooted in our experience of reality, how we effect & are effected. And how we can do that more purposefully & in ways that support our thriving & the thriving of life on this planet.
This is a song about relationships, from my recognising an unconscious patterns playing out, dictating. My aim is to develop relational intelligence, more self awareness, heal insecure attachment styles in order to love, be more true and realise truth more wholey.

In previous studies I have explored the power structures in our society, our emotional structure and states of being. Acknowledging how misappropriation of power has and still is affecting us. Physical places serve as a gateway for developing work around the resonant emotion and feelings accessed through these studies. Translating feeling and emotion into visual form through painting and sculpture. And through voice, writing and movement. Transcending denser emotion and processing to the purer essence of being. The practice is also informed by research into quantum physics, neuroscience, philosophy & conversations with others on life and their views.
