The Universe is Mental (getting to the heart of it) a mixed media sensory exhibition exploring consciousness and the human condition.
Recognising inner conflict as a starting point. Interpreting ways to move through that. It’s about further exploring the power structures in place and this time acknowledging the impacts on me personally. Looking at the laws of the universe and challenging myself to expand.
Launch: Saturday, June 9 at 5 PM - 7 PM
The Out of the Book Exhibition of paintings and other works of art is inspired by contemporary and classical Irish literature.
Artists have interpreted books by, Roddy Doyle, John Boyne, Sebastian Barry, Deirdre Purcell, Graham Norton, Judi Curtin, Colm Tóibín and many others.
Responding through the medium of visual art, on canvas and paper, in textiles and through ceramics and glass, they will exhibit their individual art works, in a group exposition.
Listening [with the heart]
An Exhibition about nature and the celebration of its rhythms.
Called ‘listening’ due to our inextricable link to nature and our ability to communicate with it. In quieting our minds, grounding and listening with an open heart.
Nature is all sustaining it provides us with food, shelter, heat and also healing, it can soothe our spirit and calm our soul. Supporting us in clearing and channeling.
It includes the Celestial cycles series which is inspired by the knowledge of our ancient ancestors, the building of passage tombs to illuminate on the solstices and equinoxes. The most well known Newgrange, Co. Meath, (built around 3500 BC) where on the winter solstice (shortest day of the year), the sun illuminates the passage tomb on these mornings.
Intrigued by almost forgotten ancient knowledge, our ancestors understanding of the cosmos. This work embodies my early attunement to nature and the celebration of its rhythms.”
